Ingredients :Plant contains tannin and alkaloids. Petrolium ether extract exhibited antifertility activity in funate rats, where as aqueous extract did not show any postcoital antifertility effect. Petrolium extract afforded n-hexacosanol and a mixture of sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol and heleurine by x-ray analysis.
Ailment Treated:Leaf decoction paste is applied in ring worm, urticaria and fevers. Leaves are applied on boils, ulcers, wounds, stings of insect and reptiles. Seeds are stomachic. Leaves are also applied in diabetes.
