Mode of Preparation :Leaves crushed for juice extraction, juice mixed with ginger, for local application. Leaf juice mixed with common salt and warmed for local application. Root crushed with water for decoction use. Root dried and powdered for infusion preparation.

Ingredients :Seeds contain a fixed oil. Both seeds and root-bark contain tannin, taraxerol and teraxerone. Leaves contain aparajitin and b-sitosterol.
Ailment Treated:Leaf juice mixed with ginger is useful for checking fever (local application on body externally). Warm leaf juice with common salt is good for swollen glands (local application). Root extract is given in hydrocele and also as purgative. Fresh root extract is used as an antidote to snake-bite. Roasted seed powder is used for local application in cases of griping pains of children.
