Ingredients :Roots contain glucoside methyle salicylate, yeilds an alkaloid, violine, a glycoside, viola quercitrin. Roots, leaves and blossoms contain methyl salicylate in the form of a glucoside. Roots contain saponin and an allkaloid.
Ailment Treated:Leaf juice is given in stomach ulcer, cough and cold. Decoction of flower is used for improvement of general complexion. Whole plant is used in cooling, demulcent, diaphoretic, diuretic, emetic, emollient, expectorant, febrifuge and purgative.
