Mode of Preparation :Leaves boiled for decoction. Young shoot crushed for paste. Young buds consumed as a vegetable. Tender shoot is delicacy. Fermented shoot is preferred food item

Ingredients :Food values per 100gm of edible portion contents: Protien (3.9 gm), Carbohydrate ( 5.7 gm), Fat (0.5 gm), Calcium (20 mg), Minerals (1.1 gm), Phosphorus ( 65 mg), Iron (0.1 mg), etc.
Ailment Treated:Tender bamboo shoots is boiled in water and the soup is taken in poxes and other skin diseases. Tender shoot paste is applied in poisonous bites and injuries. Boiled extract of leaves are used for small pox, chicken pox and other skin diseases. Young shoot are crushed and applied in dog bite.
