Mode of Preparation :Leafy shoot crushed with water for decoction. Root is crushed for juice. Leaves roasted for local application.

Ingredients :The leaves contain an essential oil and alkaloids a-paederine and b-paederine.
Ailment Treated:Ripe fruit eaten raw for normal blood pressure. Leaves used as tonic and astringent. Poultice of leaves applied to abdomen to relieve flatulence. Decoction of leaves are diuretic and good for rheumatism, dyspepsia, gastritis and enteritis. Roots and bark employed as emetic. Juice of roots used in piles, inflammation of spleen and chest pains.
Source:Generally grown wild in the valley areas more prominently on hedge & foothills.
