Mode of Preparation :Fresh leaves crushed & squezed for juice, leaves simmered for decoction, fresh leaves crushed for paste/juice, leaf lamina, rubbed with mustard oil and warmed over burning charcoal. Edible & used in various religious ceremonies.

Ingredients :The whole plant yields an essential oil containing eugenol, carvacrol, methyl eugenol; tannin, sugar, carotene, thiamine, riboflavin, nicotinic acid, vitamine C and amino acid.
Ailment Treated:Leaf extract is given in cough & fever. Leaf decoction is used for healing wounds. Leaf paste/juice removes lices when applied externally. Leaf juice can be used as anthelmintic, aromatic, carminative, stomachic and useful in bronchitis, asthma, rheumatism & diarrhoea. Oiled, warmed leaf lamina is applied to belly of children in stomachache.
Source:Generally cultivated in warmer areas of Manipur mainly in Jiribam area.
