Ingredients : Plant contains thiamine, riboflavin, nicotinic acid, vitamin C, A, oxalates and b-amylase. The starch isolated from the flour consists about 15% amylose and amylopectin.
Ailment Treated:The plant is used to enhance blood circulation and leucorrhoea. Fresh tender kernels are sweet, delicious, nutritious and a good source of minerals and carbohydrates. The fruit are astringent, cooling, constipating, diuretic, antipyretic, appetizer and tonic.
Source:Found in lake and other low lying marshes and also cultivated in ponds.
