Mode of Preparation :Stem is cut for fresh latex. Leaves crushed for extract. Bark is simmered with little water for decoction. The leaves used in mixed salad.

Ingredients :Iridoids-13-0-Caffeoylplumieride, 13-deoxy-plumieride, Plumenoside (b-dihydroplumericinic acid glucosyl ester), 1-a-plumieride, 1-a-protoplumericin A and 8-isoplumieride are reported from roots.
Ailment Treated:Bark decoction is used as purgative and febrifuge. Latex is rubifacient and purgative. Leaf extract is given in stomach pain and diarrhoea.
Source:Generally cultivated as garden plant. Not as common.
