Parts Used :Bark, Seed and Leaf
Mode of Preparation :Fresh leaves crushed for juice. Fresh leaves boiled for extract. Bark boiled for extract. Seeds crushed into powder. Planted as decorative/avenue plant.
Mode of use :Decoction, Fresh and Local Application
Ingredients :Seeds yield a fixed oil. Bark expectorant, contains two alkaloids, of these the water soluble one stimulates the ciliary movement of oesophagus.
Ailment Treated:Fresh leaf juice is good for local application on skin diseases. Leaf decoction is good for fever. Bark decoction is used in liver and spleen complaints. Seed powder is useful for removing dandruff. Bark decoction is expectorant.
Source:Generally cultivated in valley areas as garden plant.
