Mode of Preparation :Fresh leaves crushed for decoction. Inflorescence used for fresh consumption. Fruit dried and used as spice. Fruits ground into powder. Leaf/shoot cooked with fresh water snail & eaten. Bark soaked with water for infusion. Bark boiled for extract.

Ingredients :Dried flower yields an essential oil called Wartara oil; it is rich in Linalool largely used in perfumery.
Ailment Treated:Fruits and seeds used as tonic in fever and dyspepsia. Fruits used in toothache and scabies. Seeds and leaves used in indigestion, cough and bronchitis. Plant extract used in the preparation of insecticides. Oil extracted from the seeds is useful for healthy growth of hairs, antiseptic, deodorant and disinfectant. Bark decoction/ infusion is used in cholera. Stem/ fruit powder is used in toothache.
