Mode of Preparation :Root crushed for extract preparation. Stem cut to collect latex for local application. Bark given to cattle. Bark boiled with water for extract. Fruit is edible. The gum/ latex produced from the bark is used in stupefying birds.
Mode of use :Decoction, Fresh and Local Application
Ingredients :Bark yields tannin (14%). b-Sitosterol glucoside, friedelin and lupeol isolated from stem bark.
Ailment Treated:Root extract useful for dysentery and diabetes. Decoction of fruit is given in diabetes. Fruit is good for lung diseases. Latex is used for local application on boils. Bark given to cattle in rinder-pest disease. Fruit is stomachic and carminative. Decoction of bark is vulnerary.
