Mode of Preparation :Fresh shoot crushed for paste. Plant crushed with water for extract. Leaves soaked in water for infusion.

Ingredients :Quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin, rhamnazin, polygonicacid, warbarganal were reported isolated from the leaves. Root having polygonolid. Polygonic acid exhibited anticomplement activity and also reversed passive Arthus reaction ( Phytochemistry 1986, 25, 517 )
Ailment Treated:Fresh shoot paste is applied on forehead against fever. Root is stimulant, diuretic, carminative, tonic and anthelmintic. Root juice is used for skin diseases. Plant extract is used as an oral contraceptive. Leaves infusion is given in uterine disorder.
