Mode of Preparation :Tender leaf boiled with water in water for extract. Leafy shoot crushed and soaked for infusion. Prepared tea.

Ingredients :Plant contains carotene, riboflavin; nicotinic acid, ascorbic acid, malic acid and oxalic acid; gums, dextrins and inositol are also reported.
Ailment Treated:The leaf decoction is astringent, thermogenic, appetizer, digestive, carminative, diuretic, diaphoretic and nervine tonic. They are useful in hemicrania, cardiodynia, ophthalmia, haemorrhoids, abnormal disorders and fever. Green leaves reduce high blood pressure, good for heart troubles and narcotic. Leaf infusion is used in conjunctivitis.
