Ingredients :Whole plant contains anthaoglucosides, glucose, chrysophanol and rhein. Seeds yield a fatty oil consisting of oleic, linolic, palmitic and sitosterol.
Ailment Treated:The raw seeds are used as a laxative. Paste of the root is used in ring worm. Leaves and seeds applied as a poultice in skin diseases. Seeds are used in insomnia, headache, constipation, cough, opthalmia and hypertension.
