Ingredients :Leaves contain alkaloids, serpentine, ajmaline, catharanthine, vindoline and reserpine. The vincristine” alkaloid obtained from this plant is reported useful in some kinds of leukaemia.
“Ailment Treated:Leaf extract is given in jaundice and diabetes. Root is toxic, bitter, acrid, stomachic and tonic. Infusion of leaves used in menorrhagia. Juice applied for relief of pain due to wasp strings. Decoction of root is a vermifuge and good remedy for toothache. The roots and leaves extract are used in active on hypertension.
