Ingredients :Rhizome contains 4-a, 5-a, oxidoeudesm-11-en-3 a-ol, cyperene-I (a tricyclic sesquiterpene) and cyperene-2 (abicyclic sesquiterpene hydrocarbon), b-selinene, cyperenone and a-cyperone.
Ailment Treated:Rhizome extract is given in cough, fever and dyspepsia. Dried tuberous roots are used for diuretic, diaphoretic and astringent activities and also used in stomach and bowel complaints.
