Ingredients :It contains Bixin.
Ailment Treated:The roots, bark and seeds are antiperiodic, antipyretic and astringent. They are useful in intermittent fever and gonorrhoea. The pulp surrounding the seed is a mosquito repellant, and is useful to treat dysentery. Leaves are used in jaundice. Leaves are used against poisonous bites. Seeds are astringent. A non-toxic dye, Annatto dye” obtained from the pulp is used in colouring food items.
