Mode of Preparation :Leaves boiled for decoction. Leaves crushed with water for juice. Bark crushed and soaked in water for infusion.

Ingredients :The stem-bark and root bark contains the alkaloid azaridine (margosine), sterols and tannins. The leaves yield the alkaloid paraisine and the flavonoid rutin. The seeds are rich in fatty oil consisting stearic, palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids.
Ailment Treated:The decoction of the leaves are used in skin diseases and small pox. Dried leaf is used as an insect repellent. Leaf juice is used in anthelmintic, diuretic and emmenagogue. A gum collected from the tree is used in spleen enlargement. Infusion of bark is used in ascariasis.
